Mary Leona Olausen, a Mixed Media Métis artist residing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, produces artwork that uses collage, water-based media, acrylic, charcoal whatever media is required to complete a body of work. Working on a number of paintings at a time, her art is about colour and shape .

 

Leona graduated from the University of Alberta Fine Arts Program in 2008. She has taken numerous Art courses over the years . In 2020 Leona began taking online abstraction with renowned mixed media artist  Nicolas Wilton (Art2Life) which increases her artistic process. Art2Life 2024 Alumni with Nicolas Wilton.

 

When not at her easel you can find her at the Muttart Conservatory, drawing, painting and interacting with other artist.

 

Leona believes that painting itself is a meditation: it resets my brain , a break from reality.
