Mary Leona Olausen

As A Mix Media Metis Artist living and creating in Edmonton, Albert, Canada, my work is a vibrant exploration of color, shape and form. Through the versatile mediums of collage, water-based media, and acrylic, a confluence of techniques to achieve a dynamic expression.

The subjects of my artwork are not perdetermined. Rather they emerge organically through a harmonious interplay of vibrant colors and complelling shapes. I am drawn instinctively to shape of line and form in my environment.

The dance of form and the play of shapes are my muses, encouraging each piece to reveal its identity through layers of creative expression. The uniqueness of my art lies in this unscripted journey – a continuous, interactive conversation between the medium and me, where spontaneity and structure intermingle until the painting unveils its own story
